Picture a Day
I’m not making any promises, but i’m attempting to take at least one picture every day. I will post them here on my blog along with regular posts…if I can ever get back on track.

Finally some snow in Portland.
Piet and I recently celebrated our 1 year anniversary of meeting each other during last years snow storm, and it just didn’t seem the same without the snow. Here are some pictures I took from our courtyard.

No…its not a child. It me and my very tall husband Piet. This picture is amazing, and i’m 5′3″ and he is 6′2″, so the picture is a bit exaggerated. To celebrate the end of the school term, we took a nice hike up on Mt. Hood following by amazing hamburgers at the famous Calamity Janes in Sandy.
Plywerk at the Holiday Artisan Market
Plywerk was featured on KGW local news yesterday morning. Its the last clip if you want to skip forward. Check out Kjell pimpin Plywerk!
Also the Plywerk 17% discount is available through the 15th with discount code “merry17″. And if you’re my friend or family, contact me because I can give you 25% off until the 14th. So hurry folks!

For Thanksgiving I made some candied cranberries which sampled and got the idea from Whole Foods. I’m pretty sure the bag of cranberries I bought were not ripe enough, so I would sample your cranberries before going through the whole process…like I did. They still turned out pretty though!

Piet and I are settled in our new home. We even set up our first Christmas tree together this evening. The apartment is wonderful, sporting steam heat which we can use as much of as we want. Piet’s brother says “they live in a sauna”. Its really nice in this below freezing weather we’ve been having. The cats seem quite happy here as well. All is well, and Merry Christmas!

Between moving, Thanksgiving and school I haven’t had much time to post. But here is an amazingly cute free calendar I found today, i’m definitely putting this on our new fridge.
Its by Yasmine Surovec and it’s free! You can download it here.

This is a fairly simple recipe to make an impressive main course. I’ve made it a few times and it seems to be a hit! Goes well with salad and roasted fingerling potatoes.

DesignMilk.com is hosting a new Plywerk giveaway ending November 20th.
The Goods: Plywerk is giving one reader $269.11 in Plywerk credit and their Aunt Jan’s scalloped corn recipe. The winner can choose to use the credit towards Plywerk Your Own or blank panels.

The Rules: To enter to win the contest you have to answer Plywerk’s question “Guess how many tabby cats my Aunt Jan has to win. Guess one of the cats’ names and we’ll throw in a special 3×3 Plywerk of Aunt Jan herself.”
I can’t enter…sadly I am family which would be a conflict of interest, but you can! Just go to DesginMilk.com and leave a comment on the blog post. Good Luck!
