Picture a day – Day 9

Day 9 – Waffle House

Finally a non food image. I’ve been wanting to shoot a picture of the Waffle House by the hotel since we arrived, but its been too cold to walk there at night, so we stopped by on the way home from dinner for my shot. Wish it were more in focus, but its hard to stand still in 20 degree weather for a longer exposure shot.

Day 7

Day 7 – Black and White

I had the best lemongrass tofu ever for dinner this evening. And then we popped into Star Provisions for dessert again. Heaven.

Day 6

Americas Mart

This is the view from the 5th floor where our booth is located. Americas Mart is 3 huge buildings with many floors of showrooms, some permanent and some temporary. Apparently the building hosts 24 shows per year, and this show is one of two of the biggest ones. There is everything from tacky t-shirts staying things like “Love me, love my dog too” (who happen to be across the isle from us…) to nice jewellery available for unbeatable wholesale prices. I will get more of a chance to check everything out tomorrow. Today was spent setting up the booth, eating more good food and shopping at H&M. :)

Day 5

cupcake

The picture isn’t great, but I had limited lighting to work with. My first evening in Atlanta was relaxed. We went to Ikea to purchase all the supplies for the set up for the show. This included 5 Billy Bookcases, 2 rugs, a table and 2 chairs along with other odds and ends. I plan on taking some photos of the set up and the bags we are selling for a separate post. Anyway, I had butter nut squash ravioli with a goat cheese and spinach salad for dinner, and cupcakes from Star Provisions. I feel like this is a vacation rather than work!

Leaving for Atlanta

Day 3 – Grand Duke Alexander

Alexander the Great

Yesterday was my first day back on campus for Winter term. Its going to be a difficult one involving the dreaded Finance 303 and my senior capstone, Animal Aid & Grant Writing…which i’m quite excited about.

I took the camera to campus but the battery was dead, evidenced by these two photos clearly taken at home. Tomorrow i’m off to Atlanta for a week to work the Atlanta Gift & Home Furnishings Market for Mosey whom i’ve been interning for since beginning of Fall term.

Day 4 – The Basement

Picture a Day

I’m not making any promises, but i’m attempting to take at least one picture every day. I will post them here on my blog along with regular posts…if I can ever get back on track.

Portland’s First Winter Snow

courtyard

Finally some snow in Portland.

Piet and I recently celebrated our 1 year anniversary of meeting each other during last years snow storm, and it just didn’t seem the same without the snow. Here are some pictures I took from our courtyard.

Snowshoeing on Mt. Hood

No…its not a child. It me and my very tall husband Piet. This picture is amazing, and i’m 5′3″ and he is 6′2″, so the picture is a bit exaggerated. To celebrate the end of the school term, we took a nice hike up on Mt. Hood following by amazing hamburgers at the famous Calamity Janes in Sandy.
