Wedding Photo Sneak Peek

I have been on blogging hiatus, but I feel I am re emerging soon. Piet and I had our wedding and it was such a dream! It went more beautifully than I could ever have imagined and we’ve had such positive feed back from everyone.

We of course could not have done it without the help of our friends and family. We are awaiting photos from Ann Ploeg er Photography and of course my beautiful sister in law, Kim Nguyen – van Zoen.

But for now, Ann sent us a sneak peek which I have shared above.

Now that school is out I have had more time to prepare for the wedding. Here are a few little sneak peek looks at some DIY crafty goodness I have been working on.

Chalkboard DIY

Now that school is out for the Summer I have way more free time to complete the stock pile of projects i’ve been aching to get crackin’ on. Here is one little fun and easy DIY I did yesterday. I made chalkboards!

The main idea was so I could use them for our wedding next month, but now that they are finished I am for sure using one in the kitchen.

I just used Krylon Chalkboard spray paint and some Plywerk blank panels. You can also find some neat pieces of wood that have some old painting on it at Goodwill, like the one above, and just paint over it. I added some embellishment with white paint on one of them, but it’s not needed.

The paint can go on just about any surface, so get creative!

St. Cupcake

Piet and I attending our St. Cupcake tasting today for the wedding. We really lucked out, and they have agreed to do a trade with Plywerk for the cupcakes. (Thank you Kim & Kjell!) So we dropped by their bakery in NW Portland to sort everything out. There are still a few we need to try out that they didn’t have today, however I fell in love with the Fat Elvis…mmm. We also got a goodie box to take home with us!

It was a great experience, and it will come highly recommended from us!
